Sugarpill Cosmetics

Sugarpill Cosmetics hos House of Stars Cult Cosmetics

Sugarpill Cosmetics is a cruelty-free line of vibrant, richly pigmented cosmetics based in Los Angeles, CA.

The dream began in 2003, while I was running my technicolor punk fashion line, Shrinkle. While showcasing my clothing online, I often received inquiries about the flamboyant theater and stage makeup I wore, which I adopted from performers in the underground drag clubs I frequented. I realized there was a huge demand for bright, unique makeup in the club scene, so I decided to make it more accessible by offering it alongside my clothing. The makeup was an instant hit, and I found myself making almost daily trips to the theater store to restock. But over time I began to wish for control over the makeup’s quality, brand image, and the products and colors offered.

In 2005, I began to develop a new line of luxury eyeshadows in my own formula, unique colors, and dream packaging. Each color was individually developed to achieve the perfect balance of intense color, incredible staying power, and wearability. Sugarpill launched its eagerly anticipated collection on Valentines Day 2010. Overwhelmingly positive buzz from the online makeup community was immediate. A large culture of leading Youtube beauty gurus broadcast exceptional reviews of the brand, and top beauty blogger Temptalia named Sugarpill the "#1 Indie Brand for 2010." Within months of its launch, Sugarpill had become a cult favorite of the indie makeup world.

Sugarpill was chosen as the official makeup brand for Sanrio's Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary. We have toured with Japanese Harajuku fashion brands 6%DOKIDOKI and Spank! Clothing, and have been featured in Italian Vogue, Nylon Singapore, InStyle, xoJane, Huffington Post, OK! Magazine, OnSugar, Gothic Beauty, Gala Darling, and Apparel News.

Our supreme love of animals plays a major role in almost every decision we make, down to our kitty mascot. To us, "cruelty-free" isn't just a marketing gimmick. We are animal-loving vegetarians/vegans and do not wear fur or purchase cosmetics from companies that test on animals. By offering a beautiful selection of cruelty-free cosmetics - most of them vegan - we hope to show people how fun and easy it is to make animal-friendly choices.

Seeing my vision come to life has been a dream come true. We are so honored to have the most creative, inspiring, and beautiful fans anyone could ever ask for.
